Mixed Nationals 2011
Mixed Nationals 2011 is being held on 26-27th November at Awakairangi Park in Upper Hutt, Wellington.
Games will run from 9am on both Saturday and Sunday with the final scheduled to start at 2.30pm on Sunday.
Please see below for more information from the Tournament Director.
Payment
The cost for the tournament is $550 per team, plus a $10 NZU levy per player on your roster.
This needs to be paid into the NZU bank account by Tuesday November 22nd. The Westpac bank account number is 03-0502-0559605-000.
Transport options
In my previous email I said that the entrance to Awakairangi Park was off Brightwater Crescent. In actual fact, a more convenient entrance and carpark is on Totara Park Road.
For those people staying in the city and needing to use public transport to get to and from the fields, the best option is to catch a train from Wellington to Upper Hutt Station and then either a bus or an approximately 25 minute walk. You can check out your options here using Wellington Railway Station as the origin, and Totara Park Road as the destination:
http://www.metlink.org.nz/using-journey-planner/
For those driving, head north on State Highway 2 from town for approximately 30km until you get to a set of lights with Totara Park signposted to the left. Take the left over a bridge, and Awakairangi Park is on your right immediately after the bridge.
General Election
Make sure you get your chance to vote in the 26 November General election and Referendum on the voting system. It’s on the same day as the first day of Mixed Nationals, so plan ahead and vote before you leave home. Advance voting is happening now – check www.elections.org.nz or call 0800 36 76 56 to find out where you can vote.
Party
The party will be held at D4, Level 1, 143 Featherston Street (in the city), from 8pm on Saturday night. The drinks will be subsidised until the bar tab runs out.
Draw
Once the registration deadline has passed, a draw will be put together and distributed to the captains as soon as possible.
Lunch
Lunch will be provided to all teams for both days, with vegetarian options available. There will also be plenty of water and bananas available at the fields.
Right, I think that’s about it for now – let me know if you have any questions.
Cheers
