This weekend at Parr’s Park in West Auckland, the New Zealand Under 19 Ultimate boys and girls teams will face off against the Australian Under 19 teams in the first ever tournament of its kind.
 
This series is the culmination of New Zealand Ultimate’s 2011 Juniors program, which NZU launched in March of this year. The long term goal of the program is to promote the sport within this younger age group and there is serious consideration being given to attempt to send the Under 19 teams to the World Under 19 Championships in 2012.
 
This Saturday night and all day Sunday, the player’s and coach’s hard work will culminate in a best-of-three match series against the traditional trans-tasman rivals, in an event that everyone involved in the sport is excited about. The future of the growing sport of Ultimate has never looked better, and we're incredibly proud of all the athletes involved.
